Each module is facilitated by an expert in their field who is carefully chosen by the Academy committee. Facilitators present the course material on their allocated topic, adding their unique insights and experience to enrich the learning process.




Gordon Cook

Gordon Cook is the co-founder and School Navigator for the Vega School of Brand Leadership. In addition to lecturing to full-time and part-time students, Gordon delivers corporate training for Vega. He has lectured in Strategic Marketing Planning and Strategic Execution on two MBA programmes and was one of the first registered Chartered Marketers in South Africa. 



Dr Siza Majola

Dr Majola qualified as a geologist and began her career with an international mining group. She later transitioned into a corporate social investments role in the mining and exploration sector, followed by the investments and asset management sector. Today she is an executive at Advtech, the largest private education provider in South Africa.



Koo Govendor

Koo has been actively involved in the broadcasting and media industries for 25 years. She began her career with M-Net, where she rose to Corporate Marketing and Communications Director. Thereafter she joined South Africa’s leading experiential agency, The VWV Group, as CEO. Here, her passion for women’s empowerment and mentorship saw her launch the Phakama Women’s Academy, a CSI initiative designed to equip new female graduates for the corporate world. Today Koo is CEO of Dentsu Aegis, a multinational media and digital marketing communications company, which delivers best-in-class expertise and capabilities in brand, media, digital and specialist communications through a holistic and integrated approach.


Kubendree Nair

Kubendree Nair is a qualified Charted Accountant. She did her articles at Deloitte and Touche, with a stint in Zurich, Switzerland. She has 15 years post articles experience, during which she headed the Finance Division of Edgars and worked for SABMiller / Coca Cola as head of Financial Accounting. She was also the finance lead on a number of global projects. She was recently appointed the Chief Financial Officer of Advtech Schools Division.



Nicole McNamara

Nicole is a Chartered Accountant with experience both locally and internationally in the media, advertising, branding and financial services industries. She is Managing Director of the VWV Group.



Sibonile Dube

Sibonile is Corporate Affairs Director (Southern Africa) for Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of food, home care, personal care and refreshment products. Her job involves delivering an effective communications strategy in South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.  Sibonile holds a Master of Management in Strategic Marketing from Wits Business School, a BSc. Hons. in Sociology and a Diploma in Journalism. 



Lungile Mohlatsane

Lungile holds a B.Com degree. In 2009 she changed careers by joining Anglo American as a strategic sourcing professional. She has had exposure to a number of different industries including investment banking, where a stint with Absa Capital afforded her exposure to senior stakeholder management.



Shale Modiba

Shale co-founded Tribe, an event staffing agency, within the VWV Group. Today Tribe is a highly-regarded activations and staffing agency, which executes experiential events for well-known brands. Shale serves as operations director and is a co-owner of the business. Shale is a member of the betterSA organisation, which gives back to the community through multiple coaching and mentoring programmes involving children in underprivileged areas in Gauteng. Her passions include coaching and inspiring young adults, especially women, to get involved in volunteer work. Her mantra is, ‘wherever you are, be all there.’



Ashalia Maharajh

After studying Psychology at UKZN, Ashalia pursued a career in education, moving later into the HR field. She recently completed her Honours in Psychology and is working on achieving her coaching qualification next.



Ntsiki Mkhize

Social entrepreneur, M.C., facilitator and change agent Miss South Africa 2nd Princess 2015, Ntsiki is passionate about working with individuals and teams to inspire them to discover their purpose. She facilitates corporate training sessions and delivers talks on Mindful Nutrition and the FAB Quotient.



Janine Starkey

House of Janine is headed by Janine Starkey, who studied fashion design at the London International School of Fashion. She spent the first five years of her career working at the popular South African soap opera Egoli as Head of the Wardrobe Department.



Bonolo Moeng

Bonolo has a degree in Political Science and is currently completing her Hons. in Development Studies. She founded Style Tribe South Africa, a digital content agency, and is currently VWV Group’s Marketing and New Business Coordinator.



Sunshine Shibambo

Sunshine is a cultural curator who develops ideas for corporates, lifestyle brands, artists, entertainment channels and brand marketers. She started a consulting service which eventually grew into Cheri Yase Kasi, a proudly African ideation specialist agency pioneering disruptive consumer-centric experiential marketing strategies.



Didi Waleng-Friedman

Didi is CEO of Lounge Around, a niched eventing group in the weddings, décor, and exhibitions industry. Her passion for people and love of beautiful things has inspired the group’s steady growth and development since she took the reigns in 2013.



Trevlynn Farland

Trevlynn is an HR Manager at the VWV Group, South Africa’s leading experiential agency. Her passion is the development of women in the workplace, with talent and transformation being a priority. Trevlynn has worked for several high profile companies one of which was a start-up division within Deloitte. Here, Trevlynn focused on growing the HR development and talent in the specialization of resourcing for top tier companies. Her specialty is the ability to see development opportunities and advance women in the C-Suite.
